Clive Deadman

About the author

Clive started work in the African mining and UK automotive sectors. He then spent nine years in private equity and accountancy, investing in businesses involved in engineering, energy management, property and clinical care. He then spent 20 years with United Utilities (£100 billion assets) and Electricity Northwest (£20 billion assets) in roles where capital allocation and identifying, financing and addressing asset risk is essential for great customer service. He has lived and worked internationally for many years.

In recent years Clive has worked as chair and non-executive director at a range of regulatory and asset-owning organisations, and he has worked across numerous sectors, including clinical care, consumer regulation, utilities, social housing and energy networks innovation. As a frequent group chair, chair of audit and risk, treasury or safeguarding committees, he is passionate about valuing and financing risk and supporting innovation and change. 

He is a visiting Professor in Environment, Agrifood and Water at Cranfield University.
